Lesson Materials & Equipment

Students will be responsible for bringing their own instrument, tuner, and instruction book(s) each week. I will provide recommendations for specific lesson books based on the student’s goals upon registration, and guidance for finding the right instrument if necessary. The cost for my preferred books typically falls between $10 and $20, and are available to order online or in local music stores. I do not currently carry an inventory of books for purchase at this time.

I will provide the necessary cables and amplifiers for electric guitar and bass students to use during lessons.

Cancellation

If you need to reschedule your lesson for any reason, just let me know at least 24 hours in advance with written notice via email or text. Make-up lessons will not be offered for cancellations under 24 hours notice.

On occasion, I must adjust my schedule to travel or take gigs with my band. At our busiest, we’ll be away for a couple of weeks consecutively. The month of September is currently our heaviest month of the year, and I may need to reschedule several sessions in a row. This may be a plus for any parents getting their students back to school around this time. Either way, please take this into consideration before starting lessons.

I will also be prepared to notify students of scheduling changes at least 24 hours in advance of lesson time.

If you would like to discontinue lessons, please notify me by your next-to-last lesson (2 weeks advance notice).

Parking and Facility

Tito’s Music Studio is located inside The Playroom, Charlotte’s oldest and most established rehearsal facility (est. 1994).

There are 9 parking spaces located directly in front of The Playroom itself. If that lot is full, you may park in the lot to the left of the front door (when facing the door) on the other side of the white wall.

If for some reason that area is also full, you may park in the smaller lot to the right of the front door where the loading dock doors are, but please do not park in front of the 2nd/farthest loading door or double park.

Because parking is tight, please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to make sure you can get a spot.

More About The Playroom

The Playroom is home to a number of rehearsing bands, professional musicians, and private businesses. At any given time, you may witness musicians loading gear through the front door or rehearsing in a nearby room, prepping for a recording session or video shoot, or folks gathering for an event. The place can get busy (and loud) quickly, especially in the evenings.

Because my studio shares space with other professionals, please be courteous of the other adults who may be conducting business inside the building while waiting for lessons. Parents, please also keep an eye on your little ones, as The Playroom is not a child-centric environment. Despite its name, The Playroom is not a music school or daycare, and adult supervision is required outside of the studio. Please visit The Playroom’s website for more information about the facility’s history and operations.
