About Tito
My journey with music began at age 9, taking guitar lessons with John Tosco right here in Charlotte. Since then, I’ve become obsessed with rock and roll, started bands, earned a music degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, and worked as an entertainment buyer. Now, over 20 years since the journey began, I perform and record bass and guitar with a band called Late Night Special.
Inspiring others to find joy in playing music is the main thing that drives me to teach. Sharing the love of live music in particular is extremely important to me, and always creates experiences that feel much bigger than myself.
I’m often reminded of all the little things I loved about music lessons as a kid that kept me coming back: endless opportunities to learn amazing songs, shared interests with and support from my teacher, and just being around instruments all the time. That’s a feeling I want to inspire my students with.
My priority is to provide a casual, low-pressure environment where students can learn their favorite songs on guitar or bass for nothing but pure enjoyment. I won’t push complex and confusing music theory concepts, but we will dive into the foundations of rhythm and technique as we go along. Think of it as learning how to use tools and lay bricks before building an entire house. Most importantly, we will have fun! Music is here for us to enjoy, so let’s take advantage of that. Understand that I’m not a drill instructor, nor am I here to push you to the limit. You can do this, and we will move at your pace.
