What items do I need to start lessons?

To start lessons, students will need to bring the following each week:
– An instrument of their choice (either an electric guitar, acoustic guitar, or bass guitar)
– A tuner that is compatible with the instrument
– A lesson book (I will recommend a specific book based on student’s goals)
– A binder or folder for printouts

I will provide cables and amplifiers for electric guitar and bass students to use each week. I can also provide recommendations on specific instruments if necessary.

Do I need to know anything about music?

No. The only thing I need for you to know is that you love it, and want to learn it!

What topics do you cover?

– Fundamental playing technique
– Music theory and fretboard knowledge
– Note reading
– Tablature (TAB) reading
– Learning songs (by TAB, by ear, by observation, and all in combination)
– Your favorite bands, songs, and concerts
– How to make the perfect scrambled egg
– Or, any combination of these that you prefer!

How long are lessons?

My sessions are 25-30 minutes in length. I give this range to allow for changeover for the next student if booked back-to-back.

Where is Tito’s Music Studio located?

My studio is located inside The Playroom, which is the oldest music rehearsal and production facility located in Charlotte, NC. Both The Playroom and Tito’s Music Studio are searchable via Google Maps, and here is the address:

I need to reschedule my next lesson. What do I do?

To reschedule a lesson, just let me know at least 24 hours in advance via text message or email (“in writing”) that you will be unable to make it and we can find another time to meet.

Cancellations under 24 hours in advance result in forfeiture of lesson fee for the session in question.

What happens if the teacher can’t make it to a lesson?

I play in a band and will need to take time off occasionally to perform or to rest. Because I am asking students for at least 24 hours notice to reschedule their, I will adhere to the same request in return.
